Stationary and
movable blades
Stationary blades are suppported on a structure and do not move. To make contact with the blade, the material to be cut or the entire structure must be moved, either manually or using an automated system.
On the other hand, movable blades are oscillating or retractable, and are supported on a moving system, which allows the blade itself to move in and out of the material. This makes possible, among other applications, cutting the material without moving it, as the movable blade does the work.
Generally, stationary blades are used for wide geometries or large angles, while movable and oscillating blades achieve the best results in fast cuts, large volumes, tighter curve, and more detailed geometries. But since each application is unique, we will guide you on the best option.
At Cuchillas CIBA, we take care of machining the blades to ensure they meet the characteristics of the machine they will be fixed on, wether they are stationary or movable blades.
